He began his career at Shell West; Warri in 1996 where he was skilled trained as a Production Technologist. He has strong exposure on production optimization from through-tubing activities in aged Afiesere, Eriemu, Olomoro, Oweh, and Kokori, Ughelli East & West fields in a multi-disciplinary work environment. Subsequently, after a space of about 7- years, he joined PPS (sister company to PSI, The Woodland, TX) at Port Harcourt where he was exposed to core Reservoir Engineering and Reservoir Simulation duties.
PSI provides value added products and services in the fields of geophysics, geology, formation evaluation, and petroleum engineering to provide her clients a better understanding of their reservoir systems, to reduce uncertainty and risk and hence maximize hydrocarbon recovery. While at PPS, he also participated in some reservoir study: Dynamic Simulation of Total E&P, Odudu & Egina Fields and later Pipe Sticking during drilling challenge of Saudi Aramco.
Subsequently, he later joined on to Millennium Oil and Gas Company Limited, Lekki, a marginal field operator of Oza Field in OML 64 where he worked as Production Engineer and finally worked for Afren Nigeria.
His career here started as Production / Reservoir Engineer and has been a great deal exposed to completion and drilling activities. Wale worked on Okoro Asset of production potential and ramp up of 21Mbopd from at inception. These wells are mainly horizontal wells, Offshore Niger Delta, OML 112. In his duties at Afren Nigeria, he interfaced with Afren Plc at The Woodland, Texas. He garnered some international exposure in his career also this way for a period of over eight years.
Wale worked in the capacity of an Asset Manager in his active career service at Afren Nigeria before he started some consultancy works. A privilege from Tako E&P – Lekki and on consultancy exposed him to some good drilling experience. Wale is a celebrated team player with team leadership skills, co- ordination qualities and high initiatives. He gives his best to work and approaches tasks with zest and determination.
Wale Ajao obtained BSc (Hons) Petroleum Engineering at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan in March 1994. He is a strong member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Lagos section.
