Oladapo Ogunjana is a multi-skilled engineer with over 10 years of oil and gas industry experience ranging from asset management, production engineering, field operations, and economic/commercial evaluation and planning functions.
His experience traverses both onshore and offshore terrains in Nigeria, where he started work as an operations engineer, in charge of designing and implementing early monetization plans for two marginal field assets. Scope of work included generating well re- entry/workover opportunities, well site preparation and well testing activities.
He joined Afren as a foundation staff in the Lagos office and contributed to team effort that lead to production growth of over 50,000 bopd from two offshore assets within six years of commencement of operations. He initially worked in the Afren’s new ventures team in 2007 as a Petroleum Economist, responsible for supporting structured asset acquisitions and commercial negotiations. These efforts led to the successful acquisition of three Nigerian marginal fields.
Dapo progressed his career within Afren, working as a production engineer and ensuring
production and flow assurance on the producing fields within the company’s portfolio whilst keeping field operating costs within expectations. He later worked as a corporate planning engineer, providing corporate growth forecasts and decision support functions to the senior management team within the company.
He has a BSc in Electrical Electronics from the University of Lagos, Akoka and a MSc in Decision Modelling and Information systems from the Brunel University, Uxbridge, West London. He is a member of the society of petroleum engineers (SPE).
